Fundy Day Tripper
Coastal
Drive
A drive
along the southeastern coast of New Brunswick is a lovely way to
spend a day. In Dipper Harbour you can walk on a fishing wharf and
look at a myriad of fishing boats. In the right season, you might
be able to buy fresh lobster right from the trap.

In St. Andrews
be sure to visit the award winning Kingsbrae Garden. This
‘horticultural masterpiece’ has been named “Canada’s
Best Developed Outdoor Site for 2001” by Attractions Canada
and one of Canada’s Top Ten Public Gardens.
On the 27 acre
property you can enjoy over 50,000 perennials, shrubs and trees
in themed gardens such as - Children’s Fantasy; Knot, Heath
& Heather; White and Perennial Gardens. As well, you can walk
through the cedar maze, see and hear the peacocks, visit a genuine
Dutch windmill, see alpacas and ducks.

Be sure to visit and enjoy the fully licensed Garden Café, Gift Shop and Art Gallery and much much more. They are open daily 9 -6 and are Handicap accessible.
After your
visit to St. Andrews continue on to The Red Rooster Country Store
located just on the outskirts of St. Stephen. This is a convenience
store, a gas station, a restaurant and a museum all in one. Doug
Bartlett and his wife, Pauline, started to build the company 14
years ago. The store is decorated with early artifacts and building
material with paintings which are replicas of the exteriors of buildings
and signs from the Charlotte County area.
Along with the full service restaurant, they sell sub sandwiches and have a quick takeout. They have just recently added a healthy food section where they sell sandwiches, apples and oranges and juices and similar items. They make and sell their own bread, cookies, sweets and pies.
Doug describes
the Red Rooster as “a kind of a landmark. People know it is
here and now they stop by just to see it.”
